What's Up With That?by Tom Kuzeja - January 20, 2000 |

And So It GoesBack in August of 1997, I began an adventure at Lau Technologies in Littleton, Massachusetts. I was hired to be part of a product development team working on facial recognition technology. Amazing stuff. It was an incredible opportunity and I feel lucky having had a chance to learn a bunch of new things and meet lots of wonderful people. Of course being a shy and reserved individual, it took me awhile to meet new people. Yeah, right. I found that there wasn't a shortage of things to talk about and I soon fit in pretty quickly. I think most people learned in short fashion that I am rarely at a loss for words whether they be spoken, written or communicated over the telephone! Ah yes, this is me. I need to figure out how to get paid for talking. I'm a natural. I could be very rich. I was lucky in that one of my early tasks was to work on the company's intranet site. So I got to start dabbling in web page design. This was a lot of fun for me and helped me to launch the pages that you see here today. The time has now come for me to move on to a new adventure. I've got a job with a startup called activeIQ in Bedford, Massachusetts where I'll be working in the e-commerce field. This should be interesting and I'm looking forward to learning more new stuff. It's a little scary as well but I'm sure it will all work out. I've met a ton of great folks while at Lau; it is always the friendships that are most difficult to leave behind when starting a new job. I hope my friends will continue to stay in touch with me. I'm hoping that I'll continue to have an opportunity to update my own web site (and maybe learn a few new tricks!) and keep people up to date with what's rattling around in my wacky brain. I hope to continue to see hits from the lautechnologies domain which will let me know that old friends are still checking in. It's a small world out there. Who knows when our paths may cross again! By the way, I realize that none of this is remotely humorous or funny and I hope to get back to the silly stuff soon. Besides, with a new commute up Rt. 128 in my immediate future, I have a feeling that there won't be a shortage of new material any time soon. Best of luck to you all! |
